Dog Date

"Why, Mr. Mittens, you know I'm not that kind of girl!"

Essential Information:
Date: November 2002
Location: Gilfillan home, Owego, NY
Script: Complete improv.
Credits:
Both Voices - Jeff Andrews
Both Dogs - Mookie
Crew - Peter Berg
Crew - Paul Weigel
Crew - Colleen Gilfillan
Crew - Stephanie Watinski
Camera - Chris Gilfillan

Synopsis: Two upper class aristocratic dogs (dressed up in classy clothing) flirt with each other.

Commentary: Though this is a very very short video, it is one of the funniest things we've ever made just because it's so twisted and weird... And it was quite entertaining to make, too. Also, this is our only film with a multinational crew, because Pete's German exchange student, Paul helped out with it!

First, i would like to say that the quote under Mookie's picture should be Mr Buttons not Mr. Mittins. I Freakin' love this movie. Cause it's my Mookie at her best. And she's an amazing actress.

Funny because it's so bizarre...and because people actually do dress up their pets and take pictures of them...erk!

Godfather Will

"And the next godfather is..." (BANG!!!)

Essential Information:
Date: April 2003
Location: Uncle Al's home, Broome County, NY
Script: Scripted, with lots of cool gangster slang.
Credits:
Godfather - Uncle Al
Shooter / Writer / Crew - Peter Berg
Director / Writer - Jeff Andrews

Synopsis: An Italian godfather makes a video will, but before he can name who will succeed him as godfather, he is murdered by an unknown assailent.

Commentary: This is a short video that Pete & Jeff made for the Mafia Family game that they created, planned and ran for Venture Crew 38 in April of 2003. This was a really cool game, just like the other ones that they ran (versions of The Amazing Race, Survivor and The Mole)...who would have thought that Big Sazuki was the murderer!?!? Also, at the end of the game, the new godfather became none other than Oh Cany's own Megan T.!

This really should not be considered one of our films, and I just put it up to make it look like we did a lot. This is not funny at all, and serves no purpose outside of the Mafia game. Why is it up then? Because Jeff and I think it's funny that it is boring and SO NOT FUNNY. Yeah.

Yakety Yak Music Video
Essential Information:
Date: June 2003
Location: Berg home, Candor, NY
Script: N/A.
Credits:
Trampoline Jumper - Clara Berg
Director / Editor - Pete Berg
Synopsis: A music video to the Coasters' song Yakety Yak, starring Pete's sister jumping on a trampoline.
Commentary: When Pete got his new digital video camcorder and computer video editing software, he was eager to try videotaping and then editing something into a final project. He told his sister to jump on the trampoline in their backyard from various angles and then edited the footage together with his computer to the song Yakety Yak by the Coasters to make a pretty crappy music video.

Your video was perfect for me...my kids and I are reading The Watson's Go To Birmingham and the Yakety Yak song is mentioned a lot because it is Kenny's favorite song. My kids are so young they've never heard the song...so I was able to play this for them so they could hear the song (and I didn't have to go out and buy the CD)!

This thing was never very good...just playing around with the software and the camera. Also, since this video is high action, it's pretty much impossible to watch decently at a 100kbps bit rate...it's way too choppy. I just wanted to save server space by offering a low-quality version of this movie...take my advice and don't even watch it.

Army Men Stop Motion
Essential Information:
Date: August 2003
Location: Berg home, Candor, NY / Gilfillan home, Owego, NY / Tioga County Courier office, Owego, NY
Script: Unscripted, made up as we went along.
Credits:
Army Men - Purchased from the Family Dollar
Camera / Animator - Chris Gilfillan
Director / Camera / Principal Animator - Pete Berg

Synopsis: A couple experimental stop motion videos that Pete (and later on, Chris) made when they were bored one day. They feature green plastic army men from the dollar store.

Commentary: These are the absolute worst stop motion films ever made, and everything about them is really ghetto and crappily made. They did, however, give us the technical knowledge we needed to make some decent (though still bad) stop motion in West Virginia.

These are actually funny! I enjoy how you can see the hand moving the army men into place...good times, good times.

These were fun to make, but talk about a crappy job...especially on the kitchen battle one. We were consciously doing a bad job on these, just to finish them. In the end, though, they turned out much better than we thought they would. Go figure.

Crappy Gangster Scene
Essential Information:
Date: January 2004
Location: Tioga County Courier office, Owego, NY
Script: None.
Credits:
Head Gangster - Jeff Andrews
Victim - Chris Gilfillan
Vinnie - Mike Hopkins
Director - Peter Berg

Synopsis: A mob boss finds out one gangster he hired to do a job in Reno is fooling around with his wife. He sends two of his trusted men to punish him.

Commentary: We wanted to do a gangster movie, but we didn't have the time. So we just made a crappy gangster movie scene. Eventually, we plan to go ahead and make a longer gangster movie that doesn't suck quite so hard. Until then, though, you can enjoy this piece of crap!

It was a fun experiment... but the improv here leaves something to be desired. It's got a great atmosphere though. If we redid this scene and edited it into a longer gangster movie it would be awesome.
